Why you should keep a Gratitude Journal

It's hard to believe that nearly a year has passed since the start of the first lockdown in the UK, and yet we made it this far. It has been a year that brought a number of unexpected challenges, including home schooling for many, not seeing loved ones for longer than we would have ever thought possible, reinventing our homes with space for working from home, gym, home school amongst everything else.
All this has no doubt had an impact on our mental health and people are looking for ways to find a balance and keep mentally healthy in the middle of all the changes happening in front of our very eyes.
Mental health is a crucial part of our wellbeing, and we all know that sometimes it can be hard to stay positive when what we knew as 'normal' no longer has a place to exist.
However, if we make time, we can all come up with little aspects of our lives that we can be grateful for, which will help to filter out all negative thoughts. That is where journaling comes in. You can spend as little as a few minutes a days putting your thoughts to paper, and the benefits go way beyond that.
We have put together 5 reasons why we should all keep a gratitude journal:
Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. You can take a few minutes a day practicing it, and reap the benefits every minute of every day going forward.
Here's a few ways we can support you in your journalling habits:
  • By keeping a Gratitude or Happiness journal to encourage you to focus on the good:

  • Or by downloading one of our free printables:
